Agreement on the Contract with Samverk and FAG

On Tuesday, April 8th, a new two-year agreement was signed between the Faroese Employers' Association and Samverk.

The new two-year agreement is valid from May 1st, 2025, to May 1st, 2027. The agreement includes the following salary increases:

• On May 1st, 2025, salaries will increase by 4.32%
• On May 1st, 2026, salaries will increase by 3.87%

Starting January 1st, 2026, a new provision will take effect stating that the lunch break, according to Article 3, section 1, will no longer be deducted from working hours. Employees who work more than 5 hours a day are entitled to a lunch break of at least 20 minutes, and with the new provision, this break will now be paid.

There are also changes in the salary scales, resulting in the removal of three pay levels in salary groups 2 and 4, making it faster to reach the top level:

• Salary group 2
  The current seniority levels 5, 7, and 9 will be removed. 8 pay levels will remain.
• Salary group 4
  The current seniority levels 3, 6, and 9 will be removed. 11 pay levels will remain.
